About the Scheme
The Diocesan Church Buildings Grant Scheme manages three separate funding pots. More detail about each fund is included in the application form and guidance note.

Buildings for Mission Minor Repairs and Improvements Fund

Environment Programme Net Zero Carbon Quick Wins Fund
One application form is used to apply for all three funds; the diocesan grants' panel will make the final decision about which fund(s) to award from.

Please be aware:

Churches can apply a twice in a 12-month period as a maximum.

Grants will not be awarded retrospectively for work which has already been carried out. Once you have applied for funding through this scheme, you must not start the work until you have received a formal grant award letter.

If you need funding for emergency works between funding rounds, please get in touch as soon as possible.

Grants are predominantly for church buildings (rather than halls or churchyards). If the project is taking place in the church hall or the churchyard, get in touch.

All applicants are required to submit a mission plan (or provide a detailed answer to question 4 in the application form). An example document is available further down this page.

All applicants are encouraged to register for the Eco Church scheme and complete the Energy Footprint Tool as part of the annual parish data submission. Both are a requirement for the Net-Zero Carbon Quick Wins funding.

Permission should be in place or in progress at time of submission. If unsure about what permission is needed for a project, get in touch with the Church Buildings team (DAC@leeds.anglican.org).

Diocesan Loans
A parish loan scheme is also available. These loans provide a readily accessible source of funds to parishes for major works which a parish would otherwise be unable to complete.
