Licensed Lay Ministers from across the diocese were recently celebrated at a service at Wakefield Cathedral.
A special Service of Admission and Licensing of Licensed Lay Ministers and Celebration of Licensed Lay Ministry was held at the cathedral on Sunday, September 20.
The service was presided over by the Rt Revd Toby Howarth, next Bishop of Leeds, and was an opportunity to welcome and pray for those newly licensed while also celebrating and affirming the ministry of all Licensed Lay Ministers serving faithfully across the diocese.
At the service all had the chance to give thanks to God for the commitment, service and witness of all Licensed Lay Ministers, and to pray particularly for those newly licensed as they begin a new phase of their ministry within their parishes and communities.
All across the diocese are invited to pray for all Licensed Lay Ministers, and for the people and places they are called to serve.
