Mirfield Team Parish welcomes the award winning Lindley Junior School Choir this Sunday just months before they take to the stage at the Royal Festival Hall for the semi finals of Choir of the Year.
The Huddersfield choir was formed in 1997 and has been wowing audiences all over the country ever since and has won a string of awards.
In October 2012, they became 'Children’s Choir of the Year 2012' and narrowly missed out on Choir of the Year 2012', in the Royal Festival Hall. They won Songs of Praise Choir of the Year in 2008 and reached the final stage in 2014. They have sung three times at the International Eisteddfod at Llangollen gaining second place in the children’s choir category in 2012 and 2013 and this year they came first.
This Autumn they will return to the Royal Festival Hall to compete in the semi finals of 'Choir of the Year' at the Royal Festival Hall hoping once more to get through to the Grand Finals which take place in Manchester in December.
This Sunday they will perform in St Mary’s, Church Lane, Mirfield to raise funds for the church appeal with the vicar of Lindley, the Revd Rachel Firth and their teacher, Katie Cooper.
Performance starts at 6pm and is free for children under 7, £4 for 7-12years and £8 for adults.
