Two hundred and forty pupils at Immanuel College, a Church of England secondary school in Bradford, have received the Archbishop of York’s Young Leaders Awards at Bradford Cathedral.
The certificates were presented by Bishop Nick who said “I’m delighted that so many young people at Immanuel College have been keen to gain key leadership skills. They've been putting into practice lessons about serving others and participating fully in society, which will be of huge benefit to the communities they live in now and in the future.”
The students had to undertake action projects in a bid to ‘Be the Change they Want to See’ including work to improve the school environment, recycling, creating spiritual displays and raising funds for Immanuel’s partner school in Gambia.
