An afternoon on how to work with the media, introduced by Bishop Nick
Saturday 17 January, 1.30-4.30pm at St Chad’s Headingley
We're holding a media workshop (for the Leeds Episcopal Area) to help churches engage with the media - whether they're starting from scratch with limited resources or want to improve what they already do. It's open to clergy and lay people - please contact Alison Bogle if you'd like to come.
- Creating a splash in the local press may be easier than you think. Find out how to write a press release and what your local editor is looking for.
-
Do you want to learn about using social media to promote your church? Or have you recently started a Twitter or Facebook account and want more followers?
-
Is your website having the effect you want it to? (Or do you need help to create a website?)
-
Learn about some simple and inexpensive ways to use video and images to portray the life and values of your church.
This session will introduce you to best practices and the different platforms you can use to build a local following and get new people into church. You don't need any prior knowledge – just an enthusiasm to see your church communicating effectively!
Please contact Alison Bogle (Communications Officer for the Leeds Episcopal Area) if you'd like to come – 07768 110175 or alison.bogle@westyorkshiredales.anglican.org.
