Key diocesan committees seek keen experts from across the diocese

Skilled and eager volunteers who are keen to help parishes thrive are wanted by two of the diocese’s most important committees.

The Finance, Assets and Investments Committee (‘FAIC’) and the Property Committee are both currently seeking new members.

FAIC plays a vital role in supporting the effective management of Leeds Diocesan Board of Finance’s (‘LDBF’) assets in pursuit of the Diocesan Strategy.

Principally FAIC supports, advises and challenges the Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer on financial matters and ensure the LDBF Board is fully appraised.

“We’re looking to complement our existing committee by recruiting members from both clergy and the laity who can bring their passion and experience to support our work,” said Chief Financial Officer Geoff Park.

Similarly, a new Property Committee is being established which will oversee the management of the diocese’s property and land portfolio.

The committee will have a critical role to ensure that all stakeholders’ interests are fairly considered in the formation of a Diocesan Property Strategy and allocation of resources.

“We have appointed a Chair for the Committee and are now looking to form a high calibre and diverse committee that will bring experience from a range of sectors,” said John Knox, Director of Strategy Implementation and Head of Property.

“We’d welcome members of clergy, their spouses or family members, who can bring their own direct experiences, and also those with a proven track record of working in the property sector and who have the skills and experience associated with managing a property portfolio,” John said.
