One of our priests shares powerful testimony as part of national online Mothering Sunday service

This Mothering Sunday one of our priests is sharing her powerful testimony of motherhood as part of the Church of England’s national online service.
The Revd Charlotte Cheshire, Priest in Charge at Christ Church Moldgreen & St James Rawthorpe, and Chaplain to the University of Huddersfield, is offering the story of her and her son Adam to help illustrate how complicated mothering can be for some people.
For many people, Mothering Sunday is a day of smiles and joy, as we give thanks for all the mothers we celebrate and all those who celebrate their motherhood.
It is a day of giving thanks for all those who have nurtured us past and present, as we also celebrate those who we have the privilege of nurturing, particularly at the moment.
But for others, including Revd Charlotte, it’s also a day of tears, marked with the pain of longing, regret or anger, and by a sense of isolation and separation.
Her testimony hopes to powerfully illustrate this in a very real way to people, and to share how her faith has played into her life.
The national online service, led by the Rt Revd Rachel Treweek, the Bishop of Gloucester, and including a contribution from Revd Charlotte, can be found here, and will be live from Sunday at 9am.
Revd Charlotte also recently spoke about her story to Premier Christian Radio; this interview can be found here.
