Christian and Muslim women from across the diocese met in Chapel-le-Dale recently to focus on different ways of healing.
It was the eighth time a weekend residential of this kind had been held, developing conversation and trust between Christian woman from the Ripon area of the diocese and Muslim women from Bradford, Keighley and Dewsbury.
Christine, churchwarden at St John’s Church, in Bentham, said: “This is the most significant weekend of my year, where we relax and grow together, deepening our understanding and empathy.
“There are many tears and much laughter shared through our food and fellowship.”
The weekend was organised in partnership with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.
The Revd Canon Anne Russell, who has helped lead the weekends since their conception, said: “This is a ground-breaking encounter of faith, race and background which has truly changed lives through steadfastly building relationships from the grassroots.
“We haven't been afraid of exploring very difficult subjects and have grown in love and trust throughout.”
