This year Barnabas: Encouraging Confidence has been supporting people and their church buildings across the whole diocese.
The Rt Revd Tony Robinson, Bishop of Wakefield said many goodbyes at a special service of gratitude for his 27 years of service in our diocese.
Seventeen new priests were ordained this weekend in services across the diocese.
The Ven Cat Thatcher has been installed as the new Archdeacon of Pontefract.
One of our Wakefield area churches is going to be celebrating one of their former curates, the writer of the hymn ‘Onward Christian Soldiers’.
The Rt Revd Tony Robinson, Bishop of Wakefield, will retire this summer after 42 years of ordained ministry.
“50 Faces of the Holy Land” is a photographic exhibition that focuses on the history, diversity, joy and suffering of that region and which will be at Wakefield Cathedral from Friday.
The Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell joined in conversations at Wakefield Cathedral with the local business community during a special visit to the Episcopal Area.
