Jesus 100 is the name of a new book written by Bradford based Robin Gamble, the Bishop’s Advisor for Church Growth in the Diocese of Leeds.
Subtitled ‘100 days to find him, to follow him and to begin to become like him’, Jesus 100 offers readers some of Jesus’ greatest hits stories from the Gospels, all explained with a contemporary voice.
The book was officially launched at a recent event hosted at Waterstones book store in Bradford city centre. Attendees had the opportunity to purchase a copy of Jesus 100 and hear what the book was all about, from Robin himself and other contributors.
Asked about the book, Robin explained: “‘So much writing about Jesus feels a bit heavily religious, written for the deeply spiritual and theologically educated.
“I have always loved trying to make the Jesus stories work for the outsider, for those on the edge and for the many people in our congregations who are not part of the inner circle.
“Jesus 100 includes a hundred Gospel stories with my own thoughts and reflections, lots of contemporary allusions, bits of poetry, masses of music, film, TV and literary references. Provocative questions and daily prayers are also added.
“We are already getting a lot of positive feedback and numbers of churches are bulk buying and using the book as a church study guide come preaching journey (notes are supplied).
“A hundred days to find him, to follow him and to become like him.”
Jesus 100 is available to buy from a number of online book stores, including here at Amazon.
