The Vicar and PCC of St Giles' Pontefract is seeking a freelance fundraiser to identify and apply for strategic Net Zero Carbon fundraising opportunities across a cluster of parishes in the Pontefract area.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for the right candidate with a passion for sustainability to investigate new and imaginative ways in which to further the work of NZC by looking at how our historical buildings can be leading the way as we strive to protect our environment.

The Net Zero Carbon Freelance Fundraiser will play a key role in supporting carbon reduction projects in churches in the Pontefract area. For a fixed term period, the role will work alongside a group of parishes situated in and around Pontefract, West Yorkshire. As the role is regionally based, there will be a requirement to travel to the nominated churches across this area.

The successful candidate will investigate and apply for funds by accessing statutory bodies, charitable trusts and other sources willing to finance Net Zero activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Vicar of Pontefract and the Diocese’ Net Zero Carbon Programme Manager throughout their time in post. They will be self-motivated, with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

This is a self-employed position offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 12 months, with a total fee payable of £25,000, paid equally over 12 months. The appointed candidate will be responsible for managing all associated costs, including income tax and National Insurance contributions, as no additional allowances or reimbursements will be provided.

Closing Date: Tuesday, November 25, 11.59pm.

Interview Date: Thursday, December 11
