Jo hailed from a military family and much of her childhood was spent in Germany. On leaving school, Jo embarked upon a career in the Army as a Combat Medic. Having completed 25years regular service and 5 years reserve service she was fortunate to have worked as far afield as Brunei, Falkland Islands, Kenya and Iraq and also has experience as a ration storeman, practice manager, and a medical instructor. Having attained the rank of Warrant Officer, Jo left in 2015 to train as a teacher in further education. Teaching Health and Social Science at Barnsley College. Whilst a lay minister (Reader) for 18 years, Jo felt called to specialist ministry as a prison chaplain. In 2019 Jo became the Managing Chaplain for HMP Lindholme where she ministers to date. Jo enjoys running, Cross Stitch, reading and DIY. On a personal spiritual level, Jo feels at home with Benedictine Spirituality.
