Rebecca Mathen will serve as the curate in the Benefice of Little Horton, Bradford. She trained for ordination at Ridley Hall in Cambridge, studying the Bachelor of Theology for Ministry (BTh, University of Cambridge) and the Postgraduate Diploma in Theology, Ministry and Mission.
She grew up in an ecumenical context in Singapore, England, Belgium and Denmark. Prior to training, she was supporting churches and businesses with their PR and Marketing.
At her baptism, during an altar call, her parents dedicated her to serve the Lord not knowing thirty years later God would call her to ordained ministry. Even though the journey He was taking her on did not seem clear, she has learnt to trust in God and seek His strength. As Isaiah 26:4 says, ‘Trust in the Lord for ever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock.’ Outside of church she has a great love of baking, going for walks with her dog Snowy (who rules the roost) and catching up with friends and family. Rebecca has a special interest in growing inter faith relationships and is looking forward to working with the community and bringing more people to faith in Jesus.
