St Cross Church, Middleton, have recently celebrated the licensing of the Revd Olasupo Ogunyinka as their Interim Priest in Charge.
The service for Revd Supo took place on Tuesday, September 24, and was conducted by the Ven Paul Ayers, Archdeacon of Leeds.
During the service Revd Supo was commended by members of the congregation from his previous parish: St Mary’s Church, Beeston and St Andrew’s Church, Bruntcliffe.
He was warmly welcomed by the Area Dean, church leaders from St Cross and members of the local community.
The Revd Sharon Ward, Team Vicar at St John's Church, Moor Allerton, said: “Supo had many supporters and encouragers with him on the beginning of his new journey, led by his wife Barbara and many of their family and friends.
“Many of the UKME/GMH Clergy turned up in force to add their moral support of Supo.
“The service reflected and allowed Supo’s character and personality to shine through – a perfect mix of joy and celebration - with God right at the heart of it.
“It was hard to leave without taking some of that infectious joyfulness with you!”
