Holy Trinity Barnoldswick have been helping local children experience Christmas.
The church recently ran an Experience Christmas event for some 120 Year 3 children from the three schools in the town.
The event was coordinated by Louise Firth, a Licensed Lay Minister at the church.
After being welcomed to the church, the children moved around five different stations to learn about different parts of the Christmas story.
Station 1 looked at the Preparation, with the children invited to wrap a red ribbon around a pine cone and think about something they wish they hadn't done or said to someone.
Louise said: “The red ribbon reminds us of how God's love surrounds us.
“The cones are then added to a very large green wreath.”
Station 2 was the Announcement, telling the story of the angel Gabriel’s visit to Mary.
Station 3 was the Promises, which helped the children learn of the promises written many years before Christmas that told of a king who would come.
The children then found out about the gifts the wise men brought, and drew or wrote about a gift they would have liked to give baby Jesus.
At station 4, the Journey, the children gathered around a large floor map and traced the journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem.
Station 5 was the Messages, and was about the shepherds.
The children learned of the message from the angels and how, even though the shepherds were very poor, they were chosen especially to be the first to visit the baby.
Louise said: “After these 5 stations, all the children met together for station 6 - the Gift.
“This was lovely - baby Jesus in the crib, surrounded by tea lights.
“We talked about how giving baby Jesus your love is a wonderful thing.
“We gave the children a small book each, and a chocolate angel!
“We always get great feedback, and I am pleased because we now have all three primary schools involved.”
The Ven Bill Braviner, Archdeacon of Halifax and Warden of Readers in the Diocese of Leeds, said: “Our Licensed Lay Ministers, who are part of their local congregations and locate their ministry as members of them, offer an enormously valuable gift to their communities all year round, and not least at this time of year.
“They are able to engage with the stories, the joys and the opportunities of the season, as part of the parish family they serve, and this brings a bevy of blessings as we journey together through Advent and Christmas, celebrating together the gift of God’s love to us, within us and among us.”
Alex Burbidge, Growing Faith Lead for the diocese, said: "This is a brilliant story of how one of our parishes have used the Experience Journey resources from Jumping Fish to engage with their local school.
