A lawyer, a former combat medic and a TV production assistant are just some of the people being ordained as new deacons in the Diocese of Leeds this month.
The ordinations are taking place at Ripon Cathedral on Saturday, June 29, where eleven new deacons will begin their ministry in churches in all areas across the diocese.
Matt, one of the new deacons, said: “I am really excited to see what this next chapter holds and what God has in store for me and my family!”
We have prepared short profiles of each of the deacons, which will be shared on social media starting on Monday, June 17, and which can be found on our website here.
The new deacons will begin their curacies, which are an opportunity for them to serve alongside an experienced vicar, learning from them as the deacons prepare for their own ministry.
