A Christian spiritual support network founded by one of our curates is hosting a special online Christmas service for those affected by cancer.
Firm Roots Cancer Support offers prayer and spiritual support for people affected by cancer in the UK and was founded by Revd Helen Jones, now a curate in Holy Trinity Church, Huddersfield, after her own cancer diagnosis in 2010. Their motto is ‘strength for today and hope for tomorrow.’
The ministry of Firm Roots involves running ecumenical Cancer Prayer Support Groups around the country, as well as Christian Retreat Days for people affected by cancer, either as a patient or family member supporting them.
Firm Roots will be running a national online Christmas Service on Wednesday, December 13, 6.30pm until 8pm.
Revd Helen said all are welcome: “Why not join the Firm Roots groups around the country for some carols, reflection and prayers for people affected by cancer? Because it’s online it means it is nice for those who cannot travel to be able to join in a service from home.”
Please email Helen.Jones@firmroots.co.uk for an invite to the online Christmas service. Further information about Firm Roots is available on their website www.firmroots.org.uk
