The church at Holy Trinity Boar Lane in Leeds has moved one step closer to beginning its ministry, with the appointment of a new City Centre Mission Lead.
The Revd Josh Cockayne (pictured) will be taking up the post this summer, as responsibility for the project is handed over to St George’s Church Leeds.
Revd Josh said: “I am looking forward to moving to Leeds later this summer to take up a new post as City Centre Mission Lead at Holy Trinity Boar Lane and to continuing my curacy at St George’s Church.
“I have been teaching at the University of St Andrews in Scotland for the past four years and am currently serving my curacy at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church in a self-supporting role.
“Relying on God in these unexpected times has led us in directions we could never have anticipated, and I am excited to see how God will move in the coming months and years.
“I am praying that through the new ministry at Holy Trinity, God’s kingdom will be proclaimed to those outside of the Church and that those called to serve God in their places of work will be equipped to follow Jesus faithfully.”
The works necessary to prepare the building for this ministry have recently been completed, and the Revd Canon Sam Corley, Rector of Leeds, handed the keys over to the Revd Lizzy Woolf, Vicar at St George’s. 
Revd Sam said: “Now that the building works at Holy Trinity are complete, it is a privilege and delight to pray with Lizzy and to hand on responsibility for the building and the area around it to St George's.
“All of this will ensure that the project we have worked on together from the start can move forwards sustainably as Josh arrives and initiates the new ministry out of Holy Trinity to people who work in Leeds City Centre.”
