Readers are wanted for an out loud non-stop Bible reading marathon at a church in Gomersal in the Huddersfield Area.
The event called Alpha to Omega, will take place at St. Mary's Church, Gomersal, under the guidance of vicar, the Revd Karen Nicholl, and will start on Sunday 14 September at 11am and run through the nights to finish 84 hours later around 11pm on Wednesday September 17.
Organiser, Trees Fewster-Verhaar said the project was not a money raising event though readers could make it one if they wanted to, particularly if they were reading in the middle of the night.
“We wanted to do this solely to raise a better awareness of the Holy Bible. We want to give people the chance to read, handle and sense the Bible in its entirety,” she said.
People will read for 15 minutes at a time and the church is looking for anyone willing to take responsibility to fill at least one hour and source their own readers to fill this hour. Everyone taking part will receive a certificate saying which 15 minutes they have read.
