Christians across Leeds are invited to take part in 24 hours of prayer for the city from 7pm on Friday 11 July.
‘Pray for Leeds’ (PfL) takes place at Living Hope Church (LS9 8HE)* and children and young people are particularly encouraged to come. Children and Young People's Development Worker, Anne Carter, says, “We hope to have three 24-hour P4Ls a year and at the first in January, we had a toddlers’ prayer time! This time there’s a special space for families to pray together in creative ways from 10-12 on Saturday morning, followed by a picnic together; bring yours along and join in!"
On Saturday afternoon, there’ll be a Labyrinth with a focus for young people - but people of all ages and denominations are welcome. There’ll be a variety of ways of praying available, for individuals and groups - from quiet contemplation to joint celebration. See more on the facebook page, or ask for more details here.
Pray for Leeds is not an organisation, just a means of linking Christians (of any denomination) together in their desire to pray for:
• the church to grow and be a dynamic force for God's kingdom in every part of the city, making the good news of Jesus known in every community.
• God to bless the city with healthy communities, creativity, dynamic businesses, greater equality for all and increasing safety and peace.
• believers and churches to be changed and transformed by the love of God.
• people who don't know God, to come to know of his love and mercy.
