The Bishop of Leeds and PCC of the Parish seek a Priest in Charge to lead the congregation of Armley with New Wortley in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. The Parish is in a urban inner city area of Leeds, with population of around 10,000.
We are looking for a wise and caring priest who can lead us with vision and humility, while sharing responsibility with the laity.
These requirements mesh particularly with the Diocesan Strategy goals 2) Reimagining ministry; and 3) Nurturing lay discipleship.
We seek a priest who is able to:
- help the church to re-emerge stronger from the pandemic and to reconnect in new, creative ways with the local community,
- build up confident lay ministry, developing pathways for greater discipleship and increased lay leadership, and encouraging individuals to develop and use their faith, gifts and talents
- build on our relationship with St. Bartholomew’s Church School, and the Uniformed Organisations, reaching out to families, young people and children.
