St George's Church in the centre of Leeds had the privilege of baptising 10 adults in a recent evening service, the third adult baptism service of the academic year.
Most of the candidates were in their twenties, including several international students from different parts of the world, some of whom came to faith through the recent Alpha series run at St George's. Four of the candidates had decided in the previous few weeks that they wish to follow Jesus. 
At the end of the service another lady also became a Christian for the first time. After a conversation with a member of the clergy she was spontaneously baptised too. The Revd Luke Briggs, the vicar at St George's, said, "We are grateful to God for the opportunities we gain as a city-centre church, but grateful also for smaller local parishes who do things we can't do and so often see very different kinds of fruit."
