For 10 years, CREATE has been helping 11-15 year olds develop their creative skills, and on Saturday 11 July they're holding a big - and wet - party to celebrate their birthday.
Children and Young People's Development worker, Anne Carter, says, "We're very excited about this event - it's quite an achievement for a regular event for teens to be celebrating 10 years. They learn skills which both benefit their church and increase their confidence.
"We'd really welcome those who haven't been for a while to join us for the party. They've chosen to have obstacle courses and outdoor water games so it will be be a very wet afternoon".
CREATE events are held five times a year on Saturdays, when, through interactive workshops, the teenagers gain new creative skills for them and their church. So if you're aged 11-15 and live anywhere in the Leeds area, then CREATE is for you. There are ice breaker games, activities, pizza eating, skill building, and worshipping together, for only £3.50. (Bring an adult to supervise you and your friends!)
CREATE is led by a team of young people aged 13-18, supported by adults on their team. They plan, organise and lead events. Everyone can gain valuable leadership, creative arts skills and develop their confidence.
The party on 11 July is being held at 3-6pm at St Richard’s Church, Kentmere Avenue at Boggart Hill Drive Leeds LS14 1BX (bus route 50).
