A safe place to call home: Christian Aid roadshow in Wakefield

Christian Aid is bringing its roadshow workshop A Safe Place to Call Home to a church in Wakefield on Saturday 12 November.

The event from 10.30am to 12.30pm in St Paul’s Church, Walton, Wakefield WF2 6JU will welcome the Bishop of Wakefield, the Rt Revd Tony Robinson and Christine Allen, Christian Aid's Director of Policy and Public Affairs.

Katherine Hogg, Christian Aid's regional coordinator for Wakefield, Harrogate and Leeds, explained the reason behind the roadshow: "This year 65 million people worldwide will be displaced. Christian Aid works across 40 countries and we are responding in a variety of ways to this ever growing crisis. Climate change is also a crucial issue of our time and one which we are engaging with on behalf of the world’s poorest people."

This autumn Christian Aid is hosting a series of events across Yorkshire to talk about their response to the refugee crisis, their work around climate change and how people can get involved.

Said Katherine: "This will be an informative and inspiring morning for supporters and those wanting to know more about Christian Aid's work."

Refreshments will be served from 10am and throughout the morning.
