An Evening of ‘serious fun\' with Bobby Ball.

An evening of ‘serious fun’ is promised when veteran comedian and actor, Bobby Ball presents an evening of music and conversation at All Saints Ilkley on October 29th.

Bobby - half of Cannon and Ball, one of Britain’s most successful comedy acts - became a Christian in 1986 at the height of his professional career.

He now uses his gifts as a comedian to speak boldly on real issues in simple ways that are easily understood and his enthusiasm for God shines through.

The man he acknowledges as leading him to faith is former Bradford Alhambra chaplain, Canon Max Wigley who will host the Ilkley evening.  During a Pantomime in Bradford at Christmas 1986, Bobby met Max again and they talked about Jesus. In his biography, Bobby says he came to see there was more to life, and God was real. He decided to become a Christian and went to see Max one day, where he read a copy of 'Journey into Life', and then prayed and gave his life to Jesus.

Now he  takes four months out of his schedule every year to tour with a gospel show and speak at various venues to spread the word.  He will be ably supported at the show by the White Rose Male Voice Praise  Choir, described as being equally ‘seriously funny’ bringing laughter & tears in their wide repertoire of songs and sketches.

“I want to show people that being a Christian is not boring. In fact it’s the opposite, It’s great!” said Bobby.

“God wants us to have fun, laugh and enjoy this wonderful life he has given us, because he has given us eternal life through his son Jesus.”
