The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby has broadcast an uplifting Mothering Sunday Service from the chapel at Lambeth Palace.

BBC Radio 4's Sunday Worship went out at 8.15am today and can be heard here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000gm8f

With a minumum of people present, he asked listeners to face Coronavirus fears with strength and generous spirits: "Let God lead us into praying for the world.

"Let us care for those around us."

He said that while we may be celebrating Mothering Sunday in "physical space" - we are worshipping with God.

Archbishop Justin also called for worshippers to join ecumenical acts of prayer and kindness which will take place today, including setting lit candles on home window sills at 7pm this evening.
