Messages of penitence and redemption that are at the heart of Ash Wednesday were on display in the middle of Bradford yesterday.
Members of the Fountains Church Bradford team set up in the middle of the city and offered ‘ashing’ to people in the park, which involved having an ash cross marked on the forehead.
The Revd Linda Maslen, Vicar at Fountains Church Bradford (pictured in the centre, right), said: “It was great to share the message of Ash Wednesday in the City Park Bradford with people from many different cultures and backgrounds.
“The Fountains Church Team were able to have some really deep conversations with people and to pray with many over the course of the day.
“Taking God out into the City space is a huge privilege and something that we will continue to do as part of our mission.”
