On the eve of her retirement, the head teacher of a Hudderfield Church of England primary school is celebrating being named Head teacher of the year by the Hudderfield Examiner newspaper.
Mrs. Michelle Bouabida, (pictured far left) the head teacher of Whitechapel CE Primary School, Cleckheaton, was one of four finalists at the Awards ceremony held in Kirklees College, having been nominated by colleagues.
The event was hosted by Look North TV news presenter Harry Gration, and Michelle was named as Head teacher of the Year at the ceremony. The Award was made for “an outstanding school leader whose guidance and leadership has helped create a dynamic learning environment where the pupils are happy and encouraged to reach their full potential.”
Huddersfield Examiner editor. Wayne Ankers, who spoke at the event, said: “It was another amazing event and shows the great work that goes on in schools across Kirklees.
“It brings it home to everyone just how hard our teachers and support staff are working to ensure our children get the best start in life both in the classroom and in a wide range of extra curricular activities. It was particularly pleasing to see long-serving headteacher Michelle Bouabida being honoured as headteacher of the year as she now retires.”
