Harvest Supper brings the Eggheads and a harvest table to remember those in need
They fought them up in Glasgow – and narrowly failed – this time the team from Wakefield Cathedral are hoping to raise the much needed funds they need – and a bit extra for harvest.
A team from the Cathedral appeared on the popular television quiz show in October 2012 in an attempt to raise funds for Project 2013 – and lost out in a tense final battle.
Now BBC 2’s Eggheads – Dave Rainford and Barry Simmons - are returning to Wakefield Cathedral for a rematch with a pie and crumble Harvest Supper Big Quiz on Friday September 16.
And to mark this season of church, a table will go up in the nave near the prayer tree for people to remember those in need and the more vulnerable both at home and abroad at this time.
There will be a basket for food donations that will be given to the Wakefield Rent Deposit Scheme, a district wide organisation working to improve the lives of homeless people which the Cathedral supports throughout the year.
Teams of up to six or individuals are invited to pit their wits for £10 per head including a two course supper (bar included)
