BBC weather presenter at Lepton school the day the sky turned red!

It couldn't have been better timing when BBC Look North's weather presenter Abie Dewhurst visited Lepton CE Primary School last week.

She came the day the sky turned red! She has been invited in to help Year 2 class as they had been learning about weather around the world. The unusual weather conditions gave added opportunity for learning and discussion.

And inspired by meeting a real live weather presenter, the pupils took on the role of beingweather reporters themselves.

The day was enjoyed by both Abie and the school (videos and photographs are available on the school website  www.leptonschool.co.uk .)

And following her visit to the school Abie sent the school this message: “I absolutely love the opportunity to get out of the studio and meet people around the region and, being a child at heart, visiting a primary school is always my favourite.

"The children at Lepton School were by far some of the loveliest I have ever had the pleasure to meet. They were polite, well behaved, enthusiastic and very welcoming, not to mention, amazing at presenting the weather! Thank you so much to the staff and children for making my visit so much fun, you're a credit to Yorkshire."
