North Yorkshire Vicar, the Revd Ian Robinson, has raised £1000 for charity after a dare-devil descent abseiling into the church nave from the church tower.
The Rector of St Gregory’s Bedale, was raising money to support and raise funds for Prostate Cancer and repairs to the church roof – which he was able to see close-up as he prepared to descend through a hole in the ceiling.
The event was taking place on Saturday 19 December as an exhibition of angels was on display around the market town and carols were being sung at a nativity in the square.
