Members of Holy Trinity Church, Rothwell and Rothwell Lions Club are working harder than ever in preparation for their 8th beer festival.
The Revd Jeremy Trigg, Team Rector of Rothwell & District Team Ministry, says, “It’s a hugely popular annual event - over two days we'll have over 1,000 people through the doors.
“As well as the opportunity to choose from 50 different award-winning ales (plus cider) from across the country, we provide refreshments and a platform for local entertainers.
“It usually overflows to the lawn outside the church and it’s our biggest fundraiser in the year; we make about £4k for the church and a similar amount for the Lions. Drop in and see us!”
The beers are carefully chosen for their diversity by the ‘draught beer expert’ Phil Thomas, who spends all year scouring the country for the best British ales available.
The event takes place in the Parish Hall on Church Street: 6-10.30pm on Friday 8 April; noon-10pm on Saturday 9 April.
Tickets cost £5 and include a glass and a free half pint voucher.
