The Rt Revd Nick Baines, Bishop of Leeds, has written the foreword for a new special edition folio release of the Book of Proverbs.
One of the five ‘wisdom’ Books of the Old Testament, The Book of Proverbs remains relevant today as it deals with ethical, spiritual and practical issues, and offers wisdom to all humanity.
The proverbs are newly introduced by Bishop Nick, who adds contemporary reflection to these words that transcend millennia.
Bishop Nick has written an in-depth piece that provides a historical overview of the Book, while also addressing the theme of wisdom from a modern stance and the relevance of the proverbs in everyday life.
The book uses the King James Version of the Bible, the influential translation that had a major impact on the culture and literature of the English-speaking world.
