After the daubing of anti-Semitic graffiti on the sign at Etz Chaim Synagogue (Harrogate Road, North Leeds), the Rt Revd Paul Slater, Area Bishop for Leeds Episcopal Area, has issued the following statement:
"I am appalled to learn of this anti-Semitic graffiti on Etz Chaim synagogue.
"It is part of a worrying trend, and as the Church of England in Leeds we express our concern and support for the Jewish community here.
"Every religious community should be able to live in peace, without harassment and intimidation".
