Bradford charity provides online support during lockdown

A church-run charity in Bradford is providing first class health, diet and fun advice to their local area with a wide range of online resources.
Shine is a deep-rooted community charity based at St Stephen’s Church, working with the people of West Bowling to offer help and hope to anyone who walks through their doors – and that mean “virtually” too.
Volunteers offer resources in many different areas, including keep fit exercises, creative arts, including a weekly video game-making session, activities for children, resources to support wellbeing and straightforward food recipes for value meals during lockdown compiled by Health Visitor Linda Baines, who is married to Bishop Nick.
Lou Mann, Operations Director for Shine, said of their digital work:  “Early on we recognised our role as ambassadors of the 'Stay at Home' message and of dispelling myths and supporting people with accurate trusted information.
“This is an extension of what the Shine team do day in and day out already, so they were able to apply their skills to doing this on the phone and online.
“Shine continues to be working towards the vision of building a vibrant and healthy community in West Bowling, just differently in this season!”
