Bradford church wins Lottery funds for vital work

Saint Paul's church, Manningham has been awarded just shy of £180,000 in National Lottery funding to improve its kitchen and community rooms.

More than 40 community groups and projects in Bradford received a total of almost £600,000 thanks to the latest round of funding, with St Paul's being the largest single recipient.

Based in Church Street, it has been granted the cash by the Big Lottery Fund for its A Room for All project, which will enable the church to refurbish its kitchen and community rooms to improve the spaces for new and existing activities for people of all ages, cultures and faiths.

James Harcourt, England grant-making director at the Big Lottery Fund, added: “It’s wonderful to see the positive impact projects like St Paul’s are making in Bradford.

“They are an inspiration to others, showing what great things can be achieved when people work together to tackle the things that really matter to their community.”

Bishop Toby congratulated St Paul's vicar Alistair Helm (pictured) and all those who had worked so hard on this successful bid: "This is fantastic news.

"Really good for St Paul's and also for the people of Manningham."
