Bradley knicker mountain reaches five hundred

Knicker mountainsausage sizzleAn unusual celebration of Harvest at St Thomas’ Bradley included the building of a knicker mountain of almost five hundred  pairs of pants.

Nearly a hundred people from the church and local community gathered for a Sausage Sizzle.
To eat - there was not only sausages but knickerbocker glories (of course)!
Activities included a fire pit, shelter making and a treasure hunt... as well as beginning to build the knicker mountain.

Ruth Coates, a member of St Thomas’ commented:

“It was a fab response!

"The weather was kind, and we served masses of sausages and knickerbocker glories!

"We donated almost 500 pairs of pants, a few socks and a few vests, as well as cash donations to the evening cafe.

The pants were given to the Huddersfield Mission which runs an evening café during the winter months for the homeless. Many church members volunteer at the Huddersfield Mission so the gifts are backed up with practical support.
