Visitors to Ripon Cathedral this Saturday 18 March could have the chance to play the organ, watch Morris Dancing, take part in family craft activities or just enjoy refreshments at a pop-up cafe as the Cathedral takes part in a city-wide family festival.
‘Sights and Sounds of Ripon’ is a free, family day of activities for all ages to explore the history and culture of the city. Events will take place throughout the city including Ripon Spa Gardens, the Ripon Library, Ripon Museums, Ripon Town Hall and the Market Square as well as Ripon Cathedral.
A quarter peel of Cathedral bells from 10am-10.45am will precede the official opening at 11am with the Mayor of Ripon and Ripon Morris Dancers. Throughout the day the Cathedral will host a pop-up café and family craft activities.
An attraction for budding musicians being offered at the Cathedral is the chance to play the Cathedral’s historic Harrison & Harrison organ (from 11.30am to 12.30pm).
