St Martin's Heaton, in Bradford ran a successful holiday club this summer using the Champion's Challenge materials and thanks to a grant from Near Neighbours.
Around fifteen children from 4- 14 took part, learning worship songs and doing fun activities. Some were from the church; some were new and some of other faiths.
Chris Chorlton, Assistant Curate of Manningham & Heaton explained that his was the first Holiday Club run at St Martins for some years.
"We want to engage more in the community, said Chris
"Our Neighbours are nearer and our community is closer so we feel it was a success."
Champion's Challenge are holiday club materials, for 5–11s, produced by Scripture Union especially suitable for children who are not yet part of a church community.
