Charity run brings cheer to students

The Headteacher of one of our schools has managed to bring cheer to his students and raise money for charity.
Tim Whitehead, Headteacher at Kildwick CE Primary School, decided to run past the homes of all the children at the school in order to raise money for the charity Young Minds, supporting mental health work in schools.
The run was approximately the distance of a marathon across the hills and dales of the area, and while he was doing it Tim was cheered on by the children of the school, who made banners and signs showing their support.
About the run Tim said: “The idea was to visit every child at their house and to lift their spirits, seeing as they have been home-learning for the last 11 weeks.
“I was overwhelmed with the support and encouragement that I received along the way.
“We also raised a phenomenal amount for the charity Young Minds.
“It may well turn into a yearly event now.”
Tim’s run raised over £4000, smashing the original £1000 target.
