Mark Williams, a church warden at Holy Trinity Church Barnoldswick, has published a Christmas story for children which would make a great stocking filler, with some of the proceeds going to the Bishop’s Gaza appeal.
Hooty and Pig - 'The Missing Christmas pudding' is a story about two loveable little characters who live in a local village, and as the title suggests, it all revolves around the Christmas carol service and a missing pudding.
Mark says the inspiration for Hooty and Pig was his daugher’s cuddly owl and pig that sit together in her bedroom. He says, “ I was in need of an artist and approached Keith Garrett of Bracewell church to take on the art work… Bracewell church and village is the setting and home of Hooty and Pig as being part of our parish and united benefice, Bracewell has always been dear to me.”
Mark says more Hooty and Pig stories are in the pipeline. “Starting new year, Hooty and Pig with Reverend Simms will start their adventures and hope to keep all in the diocese and beyond gripped.”
The book is available on Amazon or through Waterstones and Eden.co.uk Christian books and is published by Silverwood books (children's stories). Hard signed copies can be sent by contacting Mark on email - marstewill@talktalk.net or Tel; 01282 786360.
