Christmas in Leeds to include drive in services

Churches in Leeds are getting ready for Christmas, with Advent activities including Drive-In services.
Wortley and Farnley Parish have teamed up with St Luke's Holbeck to organise two Family Drive-In Carol Services on Sunday, December 20 to bring some much needed comfort and joy.
With significant help from Dunelm on Spence Lane, who are allowing them to use their car park, plans are well under way for the hour long event that will include everyone's favourite carols, complete with some of the key readings and a short talk from Bishop Nick.
With generous help from colleagues across the Diocese, they are planning to livestream the event to a Facebook and YouTube Page for those who don't have cars, so that everyone can enjoy a much needed Carol Service.
They are also planning on handing out some battery tea lights, and are currently exploring how they can recreate the Nativity Scene too.
Because of COVID-19 regulations, the event will be free but ticketed.
Tickets for the 5.30pm Service can be found here.
St Matts in Leeds also have a full Advent season of events planned, all held in compliance with COVID-19 regulations.
These include an All Age outdoor service, a Carols by Candlelight service and a Drive-Thru Christmas Day to be enjoyed in your car or on foot.
