A Dales farming family with strong church connections are featuring on a new television series this summer.
The Dawson family of Clapham near Settle are being shown in a number of episodes of a new eight part series, ‘The Yorkshire Dales and The Lakes’ . The programmes are being broadcast on More 4 going out at 9pm on Tuesday evening starting on Tuesday 4th July 2017 at 9pm .
John Dawson, who features in episodes 1, 3,4 and 7 is the brother of Revd Stephen Dawson, the Vicar of Langcliffe with Stainforth and Horton-in-Ribblesdale and Associate Priest, of Settle, Giggleswick and Rathmell with Wigglesworth.
John and his wife Judith with son William, work the family farm, Bleak Bank ,Newby. Dad and daughter Hannah also help out and John is a parish councillor for Clapham with Keasden and Chief steward for Newby Methodist Church. He is also an ex-officio member of the PCC of St James' Clapham and during the series there will be scenes from a Harvest Celebration at St James with the series showing aspects of local farmimg, the family and the local community in and around Clapham.
