Church Centre Manager at St Catherine’s, Wakefield, has been shortlisted for a WDH Love Where You Live Award for her community work across the city.
Lisa Grant has been shortlisted in the Good Neighbour category of the awards after her relentless work to make Wakefield a better place to live.
Jonathan Williams, Project Administrator at St Catherine’s Food Banks, says, “We are so excited about Lisa’s nomination. She has done some excellent work within the community and she truly deserves this recognition.
“We can’t wait to find out the results!”

As part of her community work, Lisa has helped to provide a range of services to help relieve local poverty and she consistently works to promote community involvement.
She has created a variety of different clubs to help those suffering from loneliness, including a club for the elderly, a gardening club and a community choir.
Lisa was also one of the co-founders of St Catherine’s food bank, one of the largest food banks in West Yorkshire and she has delivered thousands of food parcels to those in need.
If she wins the award, Lisa has already decided that she will donate the £500 to St Catherine’s Emergency Food Store.
The aim of the Love Where You Live Awards are to recognise local heroes across Wakefield, awarding those who make a positive impact in the local community and giving them the recognition they deserve.
WDH Chief Executive, Kevin Dodd, says, “Our Love Where You Live Awards are a community-wide celebration of people who make this a district to be proud of and they become more successful every year.
“A great deal of hard work goes on across the district to make our communities better places to live. Local people are at the heart of this, and our Love Where You Live Awards reward this work.”
Voting for the awards are open until 28th September and the winner will be announced at the Love Where You Live 2015 Awards event in October.
