Our Link Diocese of Skara, in the Church of Sweden invited Dean of Wakefield, Simon Cowling to the recent Installation of the new Dean of Skara Cathedral.
Dean Simon was present for the service where Robert Lorentzon (pictured rear left) was welcomed into his new role on Sunday, February 10.
"It was a huge privilege to be present at Robert Lorentzon’s Installation as Dean of Skara Cathedral," said Dean Simon, who represented the Diocese of Leeds on his visit.
"The links between Wakefield and Skara Cathedrals go back well over a decade and last year Bishop Nick invited the Bishop of Skara, Åke Bonnier, to become an honorary ecumenical Canon of Wakefield Cathedral.
"I was able to send Bishop Åke and Dean Robert greetings from Bishop Nick and the Diocese of Leeds and we look forward to a deepening and broadening of the links between our two dioceses in the future.
"The Church of Sweden faces challenges that are similar in many respects to those facing the Church of England and we have much to learn from each other," said Dean Simon, (pictured front right).
