At the start of Diwali, the five-day festival of lights, celebrated by millions of Hindus across the world, the bishops of the Anglican Diocese of Leeds have sent their greetings to those celebrating in the region.
"On behalf of the Anglican Diocese of Leeds, we wish all those celebrating Diwali a joyful and blessed time with your families and friends.
"We are grateful for the positive relationships that we enjoy with Hindu neighbours, friends and colleagues across many of our parishes, for the immense contribution that Hindus make to our common life in the UK, and for the ways in which we have been able to work together, not least through the Near Neighbours programme, for the good of our local communities."
