This month, St Luke’s, Holbeck are hosting another collection of warm winter clothing, footwear, bedding and other items, to send to refugees living in Iraq and Syria.
In the past two years, through their Samara’s Aid Appeal, they have dispatched over 35 tonnes of items, providing help for many refugees and displaced people including children and vulnerable/pregnant women.
St Luke’s will be open for donations between 18-25 September (9am-5pm, 7-9pm). A volunteer team will then sort and pack the donations up until 1 October.
There are many ways to get involved, from donating items, volunteering with sorting/packing, donating to transport costs, and collecting banana boxes for packing.
If you have a local church school it’s great to get the kids involved. St Luke's may be able to run an assembly if you think that would be welcomed.
