\'Eco Sale\' held for communities affected by climate change

A church in the Ripon area has been doing their part in both being eco-friendly and supporting those in need across the world.
All Saints' Kirby Hill are trying to live more responsibly and care for the world by re-using and recycling rather than discarding things.
On Saturday January 18 they held an ‘Eco Sale’ in the church, where people could buy new and quality nearly new clothes, books, household items and unwanted gifts.
The proceeds are to be sent to the Joliba Trust, who work with poor communities in Mali at a grassroots level to help them sustain and improve their rural livelihoods.
Projects include tree planting, dune stabilisation and agro ecology.
The sale was a great success, with the vicar of All Saints, the Revd Alison Askew, saying: “It's great that what we might have thrown out has been given a new home locally and also helped offer hope to people in Mali.”
