The Dioceses Commission has today published an evaluation of the West Yorkshire Reorganisation Scheme. The report examines the process by which the Diocese of West Yorkshire & the Dales came into being, rather than the implementation of the scheme.
Bishop Nick says, “This is a helpful and honest initial review of the process; undertaken quickly so that the learning could be captured. Although we’ve now moved on from the events described here, it will be of great value to the future work of the Commission and those involved in other diocesan reviews.
“We will need a further review in around three years time once the diocese is established.”
The evaluation was undertaken by one of the Commission’s members, Professor Hilary Russell (Emeritus Professor of Urban Policy at Liverpool John Moores University), who interviewed over 50 people.
