Faith communities and mental health conference: Batley

Community based faith organisations will come together in Batley this Thursday for the first conference to discuss their role in promoting mental health and wellbeing.

This Thursday (June 29), Spirit In Mind will hold its first major conference for all those working in this field at the  Al Hikmah Conference Centre, Track Road, Batley.

There will be a series of speakers and workshops that will encourage participants to explore the potential for better working together to co-deliver, co-produce and co-fund projects to support people experiencing mental health related challenges.

Speakers include the Revd Mike Gartland, head of pastoral and spiritual care at South West Yorkshire Partnership Trust, Wakefield, Mark Burns Williamson, West Yorkshire Police Crime Commissioner and Steve Miller, pictured left, from the Faith Based Regeneration Network.
